If You Want the Best Daily Driver: iPhone 15 Pro
The iPhone 15 Pro wins on five things you use every minute: ProMotion 120Hz display, titanium feel, 3x telephoto camera, USB 3 transfer speeds, and the smaller weight. The display alone is reason enough — once you've used 120Hz scrolling, going back to 60Hz feels like watching a slideshow. Trade-off: $100 more, year-old hardware, refurbished only.
If You Want the Newest Tech: iPhone 16
The iPhone 16 has the new Camera Control button (capacitive shutter), better battery life (4 extra hours), and is currently in production (1-year warranty new). It's $100 cheaper. Trade-off: 60Hz display, no telephoto, slower USB.
Repair Cost Tie
Both phones have the same Apple repair pricing in 2026: $329 screen, $99 battery. AppleCare+ deductibles are also identical at $29 (screen) / $99 (other). Repair cost is NOT a factor in this decision.
Our Recommendation
For most users: iPhone 15 Pro refurbished. The ProMotion display and titanium chassis are luxe upgrades you'll feel daily, and the 3x telephoto camera is genuinely useful for portraits and travel. The $100 premium is worth it.
If you photograph fast subjects or need warranty: iPhone 16. Camera Control button is genuinely useful for photographers, and a brand-new phone with full warranty is more reassuring than refurbished.
