Tools Required

  • Pentalobe screwdriver (P2)
  • Tri-point Y000 screwdriver
  • Phillips #000 screwdriver
  • Larger suction cup
  • Plastic pry tools / spudger
  • Tweezers
  • Heat gun or iOpener
  • Magnetic mat

Replacement Process

Process is similar to iPhone 11 Pro, with the larger display:

  1. Power off the iPhone
  2. Remove two pentalobe screws at bottom
  3. Heat edges thoroughly (larger display needs more time)
  4. Open from RIGHT side (different from iPhone 12+)
  5. Disconnect battery before other work
  6. Remove display cable brackets
  7. Disconnect all display cables
  8. Transfer Face ID and earpiece module
  9. Install new display
  10. Test and seal

  • More adhesive to heat - be patient
  • Support the larger display carefully
