Diagnosis
If trackpad is completely unresponsive, determine the scope: Is the cursor stuck? Can you use an external mouse? Does it respond at all?

Restart
- Apple menu → Restart
- During startup, test the trackpad
- Should work even in boot menu
- If works at startup but not in macOS, it is a driver issue
Reset Settings
- System Settings → Trackpad
- Look for Reset button
- Or: General → Transfer or Reset
Check Battery
- If battery is critically low (1%), trackpad might stop
- Plug in power immediately
- Charge to at least 20%
- Test trackpad again
