๐ก Step 1: Turn Bluetooth On
- Click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar (top-right)
- If it says "Bluetooth: Off", click Turn Bluetooth On
- Wait 5-10 seconds for devices to appear

๐ Step 2: Forget and Re-Pair Device
- Click Bluetooth menu โ find the problematic device
- Click the "x" or "Remove" button next to it
- On your Bluetooth device (AirPods, mouse, etc.), put it in pairing mode
- Go to Bluetooth menu and wait for the device to appear
- Select it to pair
๐ง Step 3: Reset Bluetooth Module
- Click Bluetooth menu and look for an iPhone/iPad option showing your other Apple devices
- Next to it, click the "x" to disconnect
- Turn Bluetooth OFF (click menu โ Turn Bluetooth Off)
- Wait 10 seconds
- Turn Bluetooth back ON
- Wait 15 seconds and try pairing again
๐ Step 4: Reset Bluetooth Preferences
- Open System Settings โ Bluetooth
- Remove all devices by clicking the "x" next to each one
- Close System Settings
- Hold down Option + Shift, then click the Bluetooth menu
- Click Reset the Bluetooth module (this option only appears when holding Option+Shift)
- Confirm the reset
- Put your Bluetooth device in pairing mode and pair it again
โก Step 5: SMC Reset
- Shut down your MacBook Air
- Wait 30 seconds
- Power on and immediately hold Control + Option + Command + Power for 10 seconds
- Release and let it boot normally
- Try Bluetooth again
๐ Step 6: Update macOS
- Apple Menu โ System Settings โ General โ Software Update
- Install any available updates
- Restart

- Bluetooth chip failure: The Bluetooth module on the logic board died
- Antenna disconnection: Internal Bluetooth antenna flex cable came loose
- Water damage: Moisture in the Bluetooth circuitry
