iPhone X Speaker Replacement

🔍 Diagnose First

  • No sound at all? Check if muted, try restarting
  • Muffled sound? Clean speaker grilles with soft brush
  • Crackling? Could be water damage or blown speaker
  • Only earpiece broken? Bottom speaker works but calls are quiet

  • Pentalobe P2 screwdriver
  • Tri-point Y000 screwdriver
  • Phillips #000 screwdriver
  • Spudger and tweezers
  • Suction cup
  • Opening picks

📋 Bottom Speaker Replacement

  1. Remove Pentalobe screws at bottom
  2. Open display carefully
  3. Disconnect battery
  4. Remove Taptic Engine screws
  5. Remove speaker screws and brackets
  6. Lift out old speaker
  7. Install new speaker
  8. Reassemble in reverse order

📋 Earpiece Replacement

The earpiece is located at the top of the phone and requires removing the display assembly. On newer models, it may be integrated with Face ID components.

  • Remove display assembly
  • Transfer earpiece/sensor assembly to new display, OR
  • Replace standalone earpiece speaker
