iPhone Voice Control Not Working - Fix Guide

1. Settings → Accessibility
2. Tap Voice Control
3. Toggle Voice Control ON
4. First time: Download the language file when prompted

When active, you'll see a blue microphone icon in the status bar.

• Voice Control: Navigate iPhone UI, tap buttons, scroll, dictate text
• Siri: Ask questions, set reminders, control smart home
• They can work together but serve different purposes
• "Hey Siri" won't activate Voice Control commands

1. Download Language File

Voice Control needs offline language data:

1. Settings → Accessibility → Voice Control
2. Tap Language
3. Make sure your language shows a checkmark (downloaded)
4. If not, tap to download (requires WiFi)

2. Check Microphone

• Test microphone in Voice Memos app
• Clear any debris from microphone holes
• Remove case if it covers microphones
• If using Bluetooth headphones, try built-in mic instead

3. Speak Clearly

• Speak at normal volume, not too quiet
• Reduce background noise
• Pause briefly between commands
• Say "Show me what to say" to see available commands

4. Restart iPhone

1. Press Side + Volume buttons
2. Slide to power off
3. Wait 30 seconds, turn back on

5. Reset Voice Control

1. Settings → Accessibility → Voice Control
2. Toggle OFF
3. Restart iPhone
4. Toggle back ON

• "Show names" — Shows names of all tappable items
• "Show numbers" — Shows numbers on all items
• "Tap [item]" — Taps the named item
• "Scroll down/up" — Scrolls the page
• "Go home" — Goes to Home Screen
• "Open [app]" — Opens an app
• "Go to sleep" — Turns off Voice Control listening
• "Wake up" — Resumes listening

Settings → Accessibility → Voice Control:

• Customize Commands: Create your own voice shortcuts
• Vocabulary: Add custom words it should recognize
• Show Confirmation: Shows what it heard
• Play Sound: Beeps when it hears a command
• Show Hints: Displays command suggestions

• Say "Show me what to say" to see valid commands
• Some commands only work in certain apps
• Names must match exactly — use "Show names" to see labels
• Update iOS for latest command improvements

1. Settings → General → Software Update
2. Download and install any available updates
3. Voice Control improves with each iOS version
