|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $2.50-13/mo | Cheapest premium VPN | Best on 2-year |
| Devices | UNLIMITED | Family killer feature | Whole household |
| Network | 100+ countries | 3,200+ servers | Strong global |
| Privacy | Netherlands HQ | No-logs (verified) | Solid jurisdiction |
| CleanWeb | Built-in ad+malware blocker | Like Threat Protection | Good |
| Streaming | Sometimes blocked | Less reliable than Nord/Express | Good but not best |
Unlimited devices — the killer feature
Surfshark is the ONLY major VPN with truly unlimited simultaneous devices on one account. Family of 6 with 18+ devices? One Surfshark account covers all. NordVPN: 6 devices. ExpressVPN: 8 devices. Surfshark: unlimited. For family/household — Surfshark wins on math alone.Pricing — cheapest premium
2-year plan: $2.50/mo. 1-year: $4/mo. Monthly: $13/mo. 30-day money-back. Among cheapest premium VPNs. Combined with unlimited devices = best value-per-device.Netherlands jurisdiction
Netherlands HQ (was British Virgin Islands until 2021 acquisition). Netherlands is in 9 Eyes (more concerning than BVI), but strong domestic privacy laws. No mandatory data retention for VPN providers. No-logs verified by Deloitte 2024.CleanWeb (ad + malware blocker)
Built-in ad blocker + malware filter. Like NordVPN Threat Protection. Blocks at DNS level. Effective against trackers + ads in Safari + apps. Reduces data usage 30%.iPhone app quality
iOS app polished. WireGuard default. Quick connect. Kill switch. Auto-connect on hostile WiFi. Bypasser (split tunneling). Good apps but less polished than ExpressVPN.Streaming reality
Netflix US works, sometimes other regions. BBC iPlayer hit-or-miss. Hulu works. Disney+ works. Less consistent than NordVPN/ExpressVPN. Active circumvention team but not as responsive.Surfshark Suite vs Surfshark VPN
Surfshark Suite bundles VPN + Antivirus + Search (private search) + Alert (data leak monitoring). $4-15/mo. Reasonable bundle but Antivirus on iOS is largely unnecessary — iOS sandboxing is strong by default.vs NordVPN — when to choose Surfshark
Surfshark wins for: families with 6+ devices, cost-conscious + value, household/router-level. NordVPN wins for: streaming reliability, slightly better privacy track record, audits transparency. Most individual users: NordVPN. Most families: Surfshark.Mail-In Repair Service
