iPhone Haptic Feedback Not Working - How to Fix

๐Ÿ“ณ Fix #1: Enable System Haptics

Make sure haptics are turned on:

  1. Settings โ†’ Sounds & Haptics
  2. Scroll down to System Haptics
  3. Toggle it ON
โŒจ๏ธ Fix #2: Enable Keyboard Haptics

For keyboard vibration feedback:

  1. Settings โ†’ Sounds & Haptics โ†’ Keyboard Feedback
  2. Toggle Haptic ON
  3. This enables vibration when typing

Note: Keyboard haptics require iPhone 8 or later.

๐Ÿ”” Fix #3: Check Ring/Silent Switch

Silent mode can affect vibration:

  • Check the Ring/Silent switch on the side of iPhone
  • If you see orange, phone is in silent mode
  • Configure vibration for each mode:
  1. Settings โ†’ Sounds & Haptics
  2. Enable Vibrate on Ring
  3. Enable Vibrate on Silent
3๏ธโƒฃ Fix #4: Check 3D Touch / Haptic Touch

Adjust touch sensitivity:

  1. Settings โ†’ Accessibility โ†’ Touch
  2. Tap 3D & Haptic Touch or Haptic Touch
  3. Make sure it's enabled
  4. Adjust sensitivity if needed
  5. Test with the image at the bottom

A restart can fix haptic glitches:

  1. Hold Side + Volume buttons
  2. Slide to power off
  3. Wait 30 seconds
  4. Power on and test haptics

  1. Settings โ†’ General โ†’ Software Update
  2. Install any available updates

If nothing works, Taptic Engine may be damaged:

  • Water damage โ€” Can affect internal motors
  • Drop damage โ€” Taptic Engine is fragile
  • Loose connection โ€” Internal cable may be disconnected
  • Worn motor โ€” Eventually wears out with heavy use
