Google Maps issues on iPhone are common — especially for drivers depending on real-time navigation. The cause is usually one of: Location Services, network, app permissions, or iPhone GPS hardware issue.
Understanding Normal vs. Abnormal Temperatures

The Google Maps (iPhone) runs warmer than older Intel Macs — here's what's normal:
- Idle: Google Maps should show your location within 5 seconds — case may feel slightly warm
- Light use: Route calculation: 2-4 seconds normal — web browsing, email, documents
