FaceTime Links (Cross-Platform Killer)
Open FaceTime → 'Create Link' → share to anyone. Android/Windows users join via web browser, no Apple ID needed. Free Zoom replacement for friends/family who don't have iPhone.
SharePlay Watch Together
FaceTime call → start watching Apple TV+ / Netflix / Disney+ → invite call participants → 'Watch Together'. Synced playback for all. Pause/play synced. Best feature since launch — replaced 'three-friend Zoom while we all watch Netflix.'
Screen Sharing
FaceTime call → tap window controls → Share Screen. Show family member how to set up email, debug their iPhone, walk through a website together. Two-way support without third-party apps.
Hand Gestures (iOS 17+)
- Two thumbs up → balloons
- Heart with hands → big heart effect
- Two thumbs down → rain
- Rock on with both hands → laser show
- Peace sign with both hands → confetti
- Mind explode gesture (both hands open from head) → fireworks
Works on iPhone 12+ during FaceTime calls. Settings → FaceTime → Reactions ON.
Eye Contact (Hidden)
Settings → FaceTime → Eye Contact → ON. AI subtly adjusts so you appear to look at camera even when reading on screen. Works without you noticing — but recipient feels seen. Game-changer for interviews, podcasts.
FaceTime Audio (Free Phone Calls)
Free unlimited calls to any iPhone over Wi-Fi. Better quality than cell calls. Use abroad to call US numbers free. Tap phone icon in FaceTime instead of camera icon.
