ExpressVPN pricing reality
Monthly: $13/mo. 6-month: $10/mo. 12-month: $6.67/mo (best). 2-year was discontinued — only annual available now. More expensive than NordVPN on equivalent term. 30-day money-back guarantee. Premium-tier pricing.BVI jurisdiction strength
British Virgin Islands HQ. Outside 14 Eyes intelligence sharing. No data retention laws. Independent legal system. Combined with RAM-only servers + verified no-logs = strong privacy infrastructure. Same tier as Panama (NordVPN), Switzerland (Proton).Speed comparison
Lightway (proprietary protocol) is fast on iPhone. WireGuard option also available. 200+ Mbps typical. App is fastest to connect — 1-2 seconds vs NordVPN 3-5. Worth premium for impatient users? Marginal.Streaming — BBC iPlayer king
ExpressVPN UK servers most reliable for BBC iPlayer in 2026. Netflix US/UK/multiple work. Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+ all work. Active circumvention team responsive. Premium reliability.iPhone app quality
iOS app polished, possibly best-in-class design. Quick connect. Network Lock (kill switch). Threat Manager (ad/tracker blocking). Split tunneling. Apple Watch supported (basic controls).Lightway protocol
ExpressVPN-developed protocol. Open source 2024. Faster connection than OpenVPN, similar speed to WireGuard. iOS implementation excellent. Power-saving on iPhone (reduces battery vs OpenVPN).Audits + transparency
Multiple no-logs audits (KPMG 2022, PWC 2019, Cure53). RAM-only servers verified. TrustedServer technology — every server reset on reboot. Among most-audited VPNs. ExpressVPN owned by Kape Technologies (controversial — research before committing).vs NordVPN — when to choose Express
ExpressVPN better for: BBC iPlayer streaming (slightly more reliable), users wanting absolute simplicity (best app design), users with premium budget ($13/mo monthly). NordVPN better for: cost-conscious ($3 vs $6 best price), more device sharing flexibility, users valuing audit transparency.Mail-In Repair Service
