iPhone Charging Port Repair Guide
Phone not charging? Before replacing parts, try cleaning it first โ that fixes 80% of charging issues!
๐ Diagnose the Problem First
- Loose cable? Try a different Lightning/USB-C cable
- Dirty port? Look inside with a flashlight for lint/debris
- Wireless charging works? Port is likely the issue
- Nothing works? Could be battery or logic board
๐งน Step 1: Clean the Port (Try This First!)
Pocket lint is the #1 cause of charging issues. Here's how to clean it:
1
Power Off Your iPhone
Never clean the port while the phone is on.
2
Use a Wooden Toothpick
Gently scrape along the back wall of the port. You'll be surprised how much lint comes out! Don't use metal โ it can damage the pins.
3
Blast with Compressed Air
Short bursts only. Hold the can upright to avoid moisture.
4
Test It
Try your cable again. Fixed? Great! If not, continue below.
๐ง Step 2: Replace the Charging Port
If cleaning didn't work, you'll need to replace the charging port flex cable.
