  • iOS bug: update iOS

Audio Quality Bad

  • Disconnect other Bluetooth devices (bandwidth conflict)
  • Move closer to iPhone (better signal = less compression)
  • Update iOS + headphones firmware

Multiple Devices Auto-Switching Wrong

Fix: Settings → Bluetooth → AirPods → 'Connect to This iPhone' → 'When Last Connected to This iPhone'.

Now AirPods only connect to iPhone when you actively connect — no surprise switching.

iPhone 2.4GHz WiFi + 2.4GHz Bluetooth = same band. Heavy WiFi traffic can disrupt Bluetooth.

Fix: switch iPhone WiFi to 5GHz network if available. Reduces interference.

Reset Network Settings (Nuclear)

Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.

Erases: WiFi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, VPN settings.

Re-pair Bluetooth devices after.

Use only if other fixes don't work — re-typing all WiFi passwords is annoying.

iOS Bluetooth bugs are rare but happen. Symptoms: ALL Bluetooth devices fail simultaneously.

Fix: Settings → General → Software Update. Update to latest iOS.

Or: factory reset iPhone + restore from backup. Last resort.

Hardware Bluetooth Failure (Rare)

iPhone hardware Bluetooth chip failure is rare. Symptoms: Bluetooth setting toggles to off automatically, no devices visible.

Fix: Apple Service. Out-of-warranty repair $99-$329 depending on model.

Hardware failure is rare. If software fixes don't work after trying all above, then visit Apple.
