iPhone Apple Pay Not Working - How to Fix

Make sure your card is set up correctly:

1. Open Wallet app
2. Tap your card
3. Check for any error messages
4. Verify the card hasn't expired
5. Make sure there's no hold or block from your bank

Make sure you have a default payment card:

1. Settings → Wallet & Apple Pay
2. Tap Default Card
3. Select your preferred card
4. Try the payment again

Refresh your card connection:

1. Open Wallet app
2. Tap the card with issues
3. Scroll down, tap Remove This Card
4. Tap + to add the card again
5. Complete verification with your bank

Apple Pay must be available in your region:

1. Settings → General → Language & Region
2. Verify your Region supports Apple Pay
3. Apple Pay is available in 70+ countries

Apple Pay requires iCloud:

1. Settings → [Your Name]
2. Make sure you're signed into iCloud
3. If signed out, sign back in
4. Re-add your cards after signing in

Biometrics must be enabled for Apple Pay:

1. Settings → Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID)
2. Enable Wallet & Apple Pay

Apple Pay uses NFC (Near Field Communication):

• Remove thick phone cases during payment
• Hold iPhone within 1-2 inches of terminal
• Hold until you feel vibration and see checkmark
• NFC antenna is at top of iPhone — hold that part near reader

A restart can fix temporary glitches:

1. Hold Side + Volume buttons
2. Slide to power off
3. Wait 30 seconds
4. Power on and try Apple Pay again

The issue may be on your bank's end:

• Card may be blocked for security
• You may need to verify identity
• Some banks require enabling mobile payments
• Call the number on your card for help

Software updates fix Apple Pay bugs:
