📋 Steps Overview

  1. Remove bottom Pentalobe screws
  2. Heat and separate display
  3. Disconnect battery
  4. Remove Taptic Engine
  5. Remove speaker
  6. Disconnect charging port flex cables
  7. Remove port bracket screws
  8. Remove old charging port assembly
  9. Install new port assembly
  10. Reassemble in reverse order

⚠️ Try First: Clean the Port

Before replacing, try cleaning debris from the port:

  • Use wooden/plastic toothpick (never metal)
  • Shine flashlight to see debris
  • Compressed air at angle
  • 80% of "not charging" issues are just lint!
