iPhone 15 No Sound? 9 Fixes (Speaker, Calls, Media)
iPhone 15 with no sound during calls, videos, or music? Silent mode off but still no audio? Here's how to fix it.
1Check the Ring/Silent Switch
The physical switch on the left side of the phone. If you see orange, it's silenced. Flip it toward the screen.
2Turn Up Volume
Press the volume up button while media is playing. Also check Settings โ Sounds & Haptics โ Ringtone volume slider.
3Check Bluetooth Connections
Settings โ Bluetooth. If headphones or a speaker are connected, audio routes there instead. Disconnect or turn off Bluetooth.
4Disable Do Not Disturb / Focus
Settings โ Focus. An active Focus mode may be silencing calls. Check Control Center for the crescent moon icon.
5Try Headphones and Remove Them
Plug in wired headphones and play audio, then remove them. Sometimes the phone gets stuck thinking headphones are connected.
6Clean the Speaker Grille
The bottom speaker grille collects lint and debris. Use a dry soft toothbrush to gently clean it. Compressed air works too.
7Restart Your iPhone
A simple restart clears audio stack issues. Power off fully and back on.
8Reset All Settings
Settings โ General โ Transfer or Reset โ Reset โ Reset All Settings. Fixes audio routing bugs without data loss.
9Check for Hardware Damage
If none of the above work, the speaker may be physically damaged. See our repair guide or use FixBot for a diagnosis.
