🌡️ Step 1: What's Normal Heat
Some heat during intensive tasks is normal:
- Warm back during video recording, gaming: Normal
- Hot to touch but responsive: Usually fine
- Performance drops, "iPhone Needs to Cool Down" message: Thermal throttling — investigate
- Uncomfortably hot even at idle: Not normal — continue troubleshooting

🔄 Step 2: Force Restart and Check Battery Health
Restart and inspect battery condition:
- Force restart: Press Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold Side button until Apple logo appears
- After restart, open Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging
- Check battery health percentage — if below 80%, battery is aging and generates more heat
- Run light tasks for 10 minutes and check temperature
