🔍 Step 1: Inspect the Lightning Port

The most common cause of charging issues is debris inside the Lightning port:

1. Look directly into the charging port with a flashlight at the bottom of the phone
2. Check for lint, dust, pocket debris, or corrosion inside
3. If you see debris, use a wooden toothpick or soft brush to gently remove it — do NOT use metal
4. Gently brush inside the port, working left to right
5. Use compressed air to blow out remaining dust
6. If you see white, green, or brown corrosion, the port has liquid damage

After cleaning: Try charging again. If it works, you're done.

🔌 Step 2: Try a Different Lightning Cable and Power Adapter

Faulty cables cause most charging issues:

1. Use a different Lightning cable — borrow one if needed
2. Try a different power adapter (20W or higher recommended)
3. Test with a powered USB hub or computer USB port
4. Try multiple outlets in your home

Does it charge with a different cable? Your cable is faulty — replace it. If still no charge with multiple cables, continue to Step 3.

1. Force restart: Press Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold Side button until Apple logo appears
