iPhone 11 Not Charging

🔍 Step 1: Identify the Symptom

• No charging indicator when plugged in: Cable/adapter failure, lint-packed port, or deeply depleted battery
• "This accessory may not be supported": Non-MFi (counterfeit or low-quality) Lightning cable — replace immediately
• Charges only at certain angles: Lint at the back of the Lightning port preventing full pin contact
• Charges slowly: Using a 5W cube — iPhone 11 supports fast charging with 18W+ USB-C PD adapter
• Charges fine with one cable but not another: Cable issue — cables fail internally at both ends without visible damage
• Charges, then stops, then charges again: Intermittent connection — almost always lint or a damaged cable end

🧹 Step 2: Clean the Lightning Port (Most Common Fix)

The iPhone 11 Lightning port is at minimum 5 years old in 2026. Pocket lint compresses into a dense mat at the back of the port that blocks the cable pins from making contact:

1. Power off the phone completely
2. Get a wooden or plastic toothpick — never metal, never a needle
3. Shine a flashlight directly into the port — look for grey or brown compressed material at the very back
4. Insert the toothpick and gently scrape the lint toward the opening, then remove it
