  1. Go to Settings > WiFi
  2. Tap the โ“˜ next to your network name
  3. Tap Forget This Network
  4. Reconnect by selecting the network and entering password
๐Ÿ“‹ Fix 3: Restart iPad and Router
  1. Restart your iPad (hold power, slide to power off, wait, power on)
  2. Restart your router/modem (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in)
  3. Wait for router to fully restart (2-3 minutes)
  4. Try connecting again
๐Ÿ’ก Many WiFi issues are actually router problems, not iPad problems.
๐Ÿ“‹ Fix 4: Reset Network Settings

This clears all network settings including saved passwords.

  1. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad
  2. Tap Reset > Reset Network Settings
  3. Enter your passcode
  4. iPad will restart
  5. Reconnect to WiFi (you'll need your password)
๐Ÿ“‹ Fix 5: Check Router Settings
  • Band: Try connecting to 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz (better range)
  • Security: Use WPA2 or WPA3 (not WEP)
  • Channel: Auto or try a less congested channel
  • MAC filtering: Make sure iPad isn't blocked
  • Too many devices: Some routers limit connections
๐Ÿ“‹ Fix 6: Update iPadOS

WiFi bugs are sometimes fixed in software updates.

  1. Go to Settings > General > Software Update
  2. Download and install if available
๐Ÿ“‹ Fix 7: Disable WiFi Assist Features

Some features can cause connection issues:

  1. Go to Settings > WiFi
  2. Scroll down and disable Ask to Join Networks
  3. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services
  4. Disable WiFi Networking
๐Ÿ”ง Hardware Issues

If WiFi problems persist after all software fixes, you may have hardware damage:

  • WiFi antenna damage โ€” from drops or water exposure
  • Logic board issue โ€” WiFi chip failure
  • Loose antenna connection โ€” from previous repair

Signs of hardware problems: WiFi grayed out in Settings, extremely weak signal everywhere, WiFi worked after a drop/water exposure.
