- Heat edges thoroughly — iPad adhesive is very strong
- Create initial gap — suction cup + picks at top edge
- Work around perimeter — leave picks in place, reheat as needed
- Lift glass carefully — digitizer cable on right side
- Disconnect battery — safety first
- Disconnect digitizer — ZIF connector
- Transfer home button — Touch ID is paired
- Clean and prep frame — remove all old adhesive
- Install new digitizer — test before sealing

💡 Tips for Success
- Be patient with heating — cold adhesive will crack the LCD
- The 7th gen has the oldest design of the 10.2" iPads — parts are often cheaper
- If glass is shattered, tape it first to contain fragments
- Consider a pre-assembled digitizer + LCD combo if your LCD is also damaged
