Tools Required

  • Pentalobe screwdriver (P2)
  • Tri-point Y000 screwdriver
  • Phillips #000 screwdriver
  • Suction cup
  • Plastic pry tools / spudger
  • Tweezers
  • Heat gun or iOpener
  • Magnetic mat
  • iPhone 15 replacement screen (OLED recommended)

Replacement Steps

Preparation

  1. Power off the iPhone completely
  2. Remove the two pentalobe screws at the bottom
  3. Heat the edges to soften adhesive (especially around notch area)

Opening the Device

  1. Apply suction cup near bottom edge
  2. Gently pull while inserting pick at bottom edge
  3. Slide pick around edges to cut adhesive
  4. Open from left side like a book (cables on right)
  5. Support screen at 90ยฐ angle - don't stress cables

Disconnecting Display

  1. Remove battery connector bracket screws
  2. Disconnect battery first (safety)
  3. Remove display cable bracket screws
  4. Disconnect display and digitizer cables
  5. Disconnect Face ID/earpiece flex cable
โš ๏ธ Face ID Module: The earpiece speaker assembly contains Face ID components. You MUST transfer this to the new screen. Handle with extreme care - the flex cable is very fragile.

Transferring Components

  1. Remove earpiece speaker/Face ID assembly screws
  2. Carefully peel back any adhesive
  3. Transfer earpiece/Face ID to new display
  4. Ensure all connections are secure

Installing New Display

  1. Connect display cables in reverse order
  2. Connect Face ID/earpiece flex
  3. Reconnect battery
  4. Test display before sealing (Face ID, touch, display quality)
  5. Apply new adhesive strips
  6. Carefully close display and press edges
  7. Install bottom pentalobe screws

Post-Repair Notes

  • Display, touch, brightness
  • Face ID (if module transferred correctly)
  • Speakers and microphones

  • True Tone - requires calibration with Apple tools
  • Settings will show "Unknown Part" warning
