AirPods Pro One Side Not Working? 8 Fixes
Audio only coming from one AirPod Pro? One side silent or much quieter? This almost always fixes itself in under 5 minutes.
1Clean the Mesh Grille
Earwax buildup on the speaker mesh is the #1 cause. Use a dry soft-bristle toothbrush and gently brush the mesh. Never use liquids inside the earbuds.
2Check Audio Balance
Go to Settings โ Accessibility โ Audio/Visual โ Audio Balance. If the slider is off-center, drag it back to the middle.
3Reset and Re-pair
Put both AirPods in the case, close lid 30 sec. Open lid, press and hold the setup button on the back until the light flashes amber then white. Re-pair to your device.
4Charge Both Individually
Place both AirPods firmly in the case for at least 30 minutes. A partially drained earbud can behave strangely.
5Forget and Re-add in Bluetooth
Settings โ Bluetooth โ tap (i) next to AirPods โ Forget This Device. Then reconnect fresh.
6Update AirPods Firmware
Keep AirPods in case, connect to iPhone, plug iPhone into power and leave for 30 min. Firmware updates silently in the background.
7Try a Different Ear Tip
A poor seal causes perceived volume imbalance even when both sides work. Try a smaller or larger ear tip on the quieter side.
8Check for Water/Moisture
If exposed to moisture, place AirPods in a dry area (not rice โ it can clog the mesh) for several hours before testing again.
