Head Tracked: turn head, sound source stays where it was (TV stays on screen). Immersive for movies + concerts. Fixed: traditional headphone audio (sound moves with you). Choose per-app: Settings → Bluetooth → AirPods (i) → Spatial Audio. Per-app override available.Apple Music Dolby Atmos library
Apple Music includes thousands of Dolby Atmos tracks. Open Music app — Spatial Audio badge appears on compatible tracks. New releases prioritized. Search 'Atmos' in Music to find compatible. Free with Apple Music subscription.Personalized Spatial Audio (face scan)
iOS 16+ adds Personalized Spatial Audio. Settings → Bluetooth → AirPods → Personalized Spatial Audio. Use TrueDepth camera to scan face + ears. Apple builds custom audio profile. Better Spatial Audio experience. Takes 60 seconds.Movies + TV with Spatial Audio
Apple TV+ Dolby Atmos titles native. Disney+ + Netflix + Max have Atmos content. iPad/iPhone + AirPods Pro 2/Max + Atmos = home theater experience. Apple TV 4K box adds support to TV viewing.Spatial Audio in non-Apple apps
Spatify, YouTube Music, Tidal: Spatial Audio support varies. Apple Music best implementation. Mac Logic Pro X / GarageBand = create Spatial Audio mixes. Pro Tools support Atmos. Music creation tier.AirPods compatibility
AirPods Pro 1, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 3rd gen, AirPods 4 (both versions), AirPods Max all support Spatial Audio. AirPods 1st gen + 2nd gen DO NOT. Older Beats limited. Verify before buying.FaceTime + Spatial Audio calls
