- Muffled/dull sound: Audio lacks clarity, details missing
- Quiet volume: Sound is very low even at max volume

โ Step 1: Clean the Mesh Covers
Ear wax and dirt block sound:
- Remove the silicone ear tips
- Wipe the mesh speaker grilles gently with a dry cloth
- Use a dry cotton swab for stubborn debris
- Clean the charging case's metal contacts with a dry cloth
- Reinsert tips and test
๐ง Step 2: Reset Audio Settings
- Go to Settings โ Bluetooth
- Tap the i icon next to AirPods Pro
- Tap Forget This Device
- Power off the AirPods: hold the button until amber light
- Re-pair: hold the setup button until white light flashes
๐ Step 3: Check Volume and EQ
- Go to Settings โ Bluetooth โ AirPods Pro โ Audio
- Check Microphone is set to Automatic or your preferred earbud
- Check Noise Control isn't muting audio (try switching between Noise Cancellation, Transparency, Off)
- Go to Settings โ Sound & Haptics โ EQ
- If set to Late Night or Quiet, change to Normal
๐ Step 4: Update Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause audio issues:
- Keep AirPods Pro near your iPhone
- Go to Settings โ General โ About
- Look for AirPods Pro in the list โ it will show firmware version
- If an update is available, it will download automatically
- Keep AirPods charged and near device while updating
๐ต Step 5: Check Stereo Balance
- Go to Settings โ Accessibility โ Audio/Visual
- Look for Mono Audio โ if enabled, turn it off
- Check Balance slider โ ensure it's centered
- Test with stereo music โ sound should be balanced

Determine if issue is AirPods or phone:
- Connect AirPods Pro to a different iPhone, iPad, or Mac
- If sound quality improves, the issue is with your original device (audio settings or Bluetooth)
