Learn to replace worn or damaged ear tips on AirPods Pro to restore fit and audio quality.
Why Replace Ear Tips?
AirPods Pro ear tips wear out over time. Replacing them restores audio quality, improves passive noise isolation, and ensures a proper fit. It's also much cheaper than buying new AirPods.
AirPods Pro come with three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. Test all three to find which provides the best fit and seal. Proper fit = better sound and noise cancellation.
Step 2: Remove Old Ear Tips
Hold the earbud firmly in one hand
Gently pinch and twist the ear tip counterclockwise
Pull it away from the earbud
Inspect the connector to ensure no debris is present
Repeat for the other earbud
Step 3: Clean the Connectors
Wipe each earbud connector with a soft, dry cloth
Inspect for any debris or wax buildup
Use a slightly damp cloth if needed, but don't soak
Allow to air dry for 1 minute
Step 4: Install New Ear Tips
Start with Medium size unless you know your preference
Align the new ear tip with the earbud connector
Gently push and twist clockwise until it clicks
Tug gently to ensure it's seated firmly
Repeat for the other earbud
Step 5: Test the Fit
Insert both earbuds with new tips
Test the seal by cupping your ears
Play music and check for sound leakage
Activate noise cancellation and listen for effectiveness
If uncomfortable or no seal, try a different size
Pro Tip: If Medium feels too loose, try Small first. Proper fit improves both comfort and audio quality significantly.
Anti-static wrist strap (optional but recommended)
Small work mat to prevent losing screws
๐ก Pro Tip: Take photos of each disassembly step so you remember how to reassemble everything correctly.
